The Marshalltown Library

Story Construction Co., Construction Manager – Advisor for the Owner, the Library Board of Trustees

The building is 36,000 sf, single story construction. Project is currently seeking LEED NC – Silver Certification.

The project was completed through the collective effort of 15 multiple prime contractors. Construction consisted of:

   Concrete foundations and slabs

   Brick and Anamosa limestone veneer

   Conventional structural steel framing, steel joists, and steel deck

    Light gage metal structural stud framing at exterior with plywood sheathing

   Adhered 60 mil TPO membrane roof

   Soy based open cell spray foam insulation

   Aluminum storefront and curtain wall framing with exterior sunshades

   Gypsum board systems

   Ceramic floor and wall tile

   Acoustical Ceilings

   Carpet and resilient flooring

   Painting

   Interior light shelves and window treatments

   Plumbing and fixtures with on demand water heaters

   Roof top units with rectangular and spiral ductwork

   Electrical and fixtures with dimming controls

   Rooftop solar photovoltaic array system

Construction started in June 2007 and the Owner opened to patrons on December 22, 2008.
